What is the easiest healthy breakfast that you can make every morning, Monday through Friday? Ready just in 15 minutes and you’ll be ready to start the day full of energy? Pumpkin Quaker Oatmeal with maple syrup is one of my favorite healthy breakfast choice all for these reasons.
The good news with the oatmeal is that is customizable. The trick is to learn the ultimate base oatmeal recipe, then switch up your toppings depending on your mood. You can make oatmeal for every breakfast, but if you add different toppings every morning, it’s like another food. Right?
I love pumpkins and I never miss having pumpkin puree in my pantry. A lot of times I add it to my oatmeal – it can be fall, winter, spring, or even summer. Depending on my mood.
Pumpkin is mostly a fall-inspired ingredient, but with oatmeal, it can be an ingredient used the whole year.
My other favorite oatmeal ingredient is maple syrup. I love maple syrup and it matches so perfectly with the pumpkin flavor.
So let’s make this healthy, creamy Pumpkin Quaker Oatmeal.
Table of Contents
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal – I love this flavor. It gives a fall-inspired flavor and smells right away, without doing anything. But you can use old-fashioned oats, the original packages with no flavor ( in this case add 1/4 cup more sugar).
- Pumpkin Puree – or if you have fresh pumpkin is the best. Peel them, hint them with a pinch of salt and boil or bake them in the oven. Then mash the pumpkin with a fork. And here you have the homemade pumpkin puree for your oatmeal.
- Pumpkin Spice – is necessary for this recipe. You can make your own pumpkin spice with cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Organic Raw Can Sugar – This is what I had in my pantry but any kind of sugar can be used. Even honey works too.
- 1% milk – again, I used this milk because this is what I had in my refrigerator, but you can use any milk you like.
- pinch of salt
For The Topping
- 100% pure maple syrup – it’s a big LOVE for me on oatmeal, but you can use honey instead
- a handful of almonds
The good thing about the toppings is that it’s customizable. I love maple syrup but you can add honey, agave syrup, or any syrup you like. I added crunchy almonds but you can add any type of nuts to your Pumpkin Quaker Oatmeal.
Hi, to all the Vegans
Let me tell you something about the vegan version. I do regularly my oatmeal with almond milk or oat milk and it’s super delicious. Sometimes, even if I have more types of milk I choose the plant-based one. It’s just THAT delicious.
This is the only ingredient that you have to switch to plant-based. All the other ingredients are the same.
