Equipment

  • Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter
  • Cookie Tray
  • Fondant
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white Sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Homemade Fondant or store-bought fondant

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F
  •  Beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract and keep beating until thoroughly combined.
  • Finally add the baking powder and the flour, one cup at a time, and mix just until combined.
  • Roll out the cookie dough and use a small Heart Cookie Cutter to cut out the Heart-Shaped Sugar Cookies
  • Bake in an oven for 5-6 minutes. Check on the cookies at the 4-minute mark, because you don't want to overbake them.  The edges will be golden when they are ready to come out of the oven.
  • Cool the cookies down before you start placing the fondant on them.
  • Shape the fondant with the heart cookie cutter so it will be equally decorated all over the cookies. You can make your fondant decorations how you'll prefer.
  • Add the fondant to the sugar cookies.

Notes

  1. This can be decorated also with buttercream frosting or any type of icing. Sprinkles or any type of food decorations can be used.
