In a medium bowl, mix butter with a fork or electric mixer at low speed.
Stir in powdered sugar slowly. Add one cup of powdered sugar, mix with the butter, add the second cup of powdered sugar, and mix again. Continue this process until all the sugar is mixed with the butter.
Add the almond extract and milk. Mix them with the electric mixer for 5-6 minutes until is smooth and spreadable.
Notes
If the frosting is too thick, add in more milk, a few drops at a time. If the frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount of powdered sugar.
