Bonchon Soy Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe

This sticky and sweet Bonchon Soy Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe has a crispy exterior and a soft tender interior that falls off the bone. It has an amazing savor which is covered with a sweet and sticky garlicky glaze. Beautifully garnished with white sesame seeds.

Ingredients
  

  • lb fresh chicken wings
  • 2 cups cornstarch
  • salt and pepper to taste

Soy Garlic Glaze

  • ¼ small red onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup light soy sauce
  • cup mirin
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • ½ tsp cornstarch
  • Garnish with White Sesame Seeds and/or chives

Instructions
 

  • Let's make the fried chicken. Mix the black pepper, salt, and cornstarch together. Then mix well until the chicken wings are evenly coated.
  • Deep fry the chicken wings until they are cooked all the way through. It takes approximately 12-14 minutes.
  • When it's done place it on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

The Soy Garlic Glaze

  • Combine light soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, garlic powder, ginger, garlic, and onion in a pan.
  • Place pan over low-medium heat and stir until sugar is fully dissolved. In a different cup add cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Pour the mixture into the glaze to thicken it.
  • Add the fried chicken wings to the pan and stir until the chicken is evenly coated with the glaze.
  • Garnish with white sesame seed and/or chives.
