Original KFC Apple Pie

This creamy apple pie is a copycat of the KFC apple pie. It has a homemade apple filling that tastes exactly like the original recipe. This deep-fried apple pie is a perfect dessert option for your family.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 small Granny Apples peeled
  • cup sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch cloves
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with ¼ cup water
  • 1 Puff Pastry

Instructions
 

  • Place the apples, ⅔ cup sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 pinch of cloves in a pan over medium heat.
  • Stir occasionally and cook until the apples have softened. Stir in the butter. Whisk the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and add to the apple mixture. Cook until apple filling has thickened.
  • Allow the apple mixture to cool down.
  • Spoon approximately 2 small tablespoons of the apple mixture onto one side of each piece of puff pastry.
  • Fold the pastry over and, using a fork, press the edges together. Place into the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up
  • Place apple pies in the oven and let's bake it for 15 - 20 minutes, until golden and puffy.
