An apple pie is a pie in which the principal filling ingredient is apple and is an unofficial symbol of the United States and one of its signature comfort foods.
Place the dry ingredients into the bowl of a food processor and combine. Add the unsalted butter and mix the mixture until coarse crumbs form with some pea-sized pieces then stop mixing. The mixture should stay dry and powdery.
Add the cool water and pulse just until moist clumps or small balls form. If the dough sticks together, you don't have to add more extra water. If not, add more water carefully, just with one spoon at a time.
Transfer dough to a clean work surface, and gather dough together into a ball (DO NOT knead the dough). Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour before using in recipes.
Roll out your pie crust and transfer it into the pie pan.
Apple Filling
Peel and cut up apples into small pieces. Put apples in a bowl of water and lemon juice to keep from turning brown and to keep fresh.
In a separate bowl, mix sugars, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg (optional). Add the sugar mixture to the apples. Add softened margarine (optional).
Stir all together.
Pour apples into the dough pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 ¼ hour.
Wait, until it cools down. Enjoy!
