Table of Contents
Ingredients you need
- Chicken – I used only chicken breast because it’s much faster to cook and easier to shred. But you can use any of the chicken parts. Even a whole chicken can go in the soup, but then make sure you cook it for at least 2 hours in the soup. When you shred the chicken meat make sure, is boneless and skinless.
- Egg Noodles – Any brand and any form is good for chicken noodle soup or any pasta shape. The best pasta shapes for the noodle soups are usually Risoni, Ditalini, and Stelline.
- Vegetables – Onion, Garlic, Celery, and Carrots all go into the soup minced and diced. Except for the onion. I just like to add the onion in one piece so I can take it out easily when it’s done.
- Seasonings – are the basic chicken noodle soup seasonings, such as chicken bouillon cubes or chicken bouillon powder, bay leaves, fresh parsley, salt, pepper, and olive oil.
Make the Chick-fil-A Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe
- Slice the onion and the three garlic cloves. Chop all the celery stalks and the large carrots.
- In a large soup pot, heat the 3 tbsp olive oil. Garlic, onions, celery, and carrots are added along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook until soft.
- Then add two chicken bouillon cubes, two bay leaves, and four tablespoons of parsley to the pot.
- Fill the soup pan with 10 cups of water and add the chicken breasts (ensure that the water covers the whole chicken breasts). Boil the soup.
- Once the soup has boiled, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. When the chicken breasts are fully cooked, remove them from the pan and allow it to cool to the touch.
- While our soup is on simmer, let’s make our egg noodles. Put 4-5 cups of water to boil, add a pinch of salt then add the egg noodles to the water. After 10 minutes (or until the egg noodles are done) rinse them and leave them in a separate pot until the soup is ready.
- Shredded the chicken into little pieces and put them back in the soup.
- When the soup is done add the egg noodles to the soup and simmer them for 5 minutes, on low heat.
